Ever since I was little I have enjoyed the magic of the performing arts. The first show I ever attended was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I don’t remember much about seeing it but my mom tells me that I sat there with my mouth hanging open in awe. A performance that I do remember seeing is Seussical the Musical. My grandma took me to a performance at the Meadow Brook Theatre. I remember the colorful lights, the music, and the funny-looking people dancing on stage.
Not long after I had gone to see the performance, I received a flyer in class announcing that a community theatre was auditioning for a production of Seussical the musical. That day after school I showed the flyer to my mom. I had told her that I wanted to go and audition. My mom and I ended up auditioning together. We then went on to do other shows together until I entered high school where I performed in shows my Sophomore through Senior year with her as my cheerleader on the "side lines". I also participated in Forensics. I have my mom to thank because without her I would not have found my love and passion for the performing arts and I would not have gone to college for a Musical theatre degree.
I have had an interesting education career path as I started my college journey at Coker University in Hartsville, SC. I ended up leaving during COVID19 and going back home to take some classes at Macomb Community College in Macomb, MI. I then transferred to Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI where I earned a BA in Musical Theatre. I feel that my educational experiences at all of these institutions have made me a well-rounded individual.
I have been involved in theatre for most of my life and I cannot wait to continue sharing the joy and wonder that the performing arts gave to me with those who come and watch.
